Israeli forces committed war crimes by targeting medical facilities in Gaza, causing the deaths of dozens of patients, Human Rights Watch, HRW, has alleged in a new report.
The rights group said Israeli troops inflicted severe harm by depriving patients and medical workers of essential resources during military operations in the enclave. It accused Israeli forces of blocking access to hospitals and cutting off electricity, water, food, and medicine, leading to at least 84 deaths.

HRW also criticised Israel’s blockade of medical facilities, which it said restricted ambulances and medical supplies, further straining an already overwhelmed healthcare system. Many of the victims were chronically ill or required urgent treatment, including children on dialysis.
Israel has previously denied targeting medical facilities intentionally, insisting its military operations focus on Hamas militants. The report comes as international pressure mounts for greater protection of civilians amid the ongoing conflict.
