Hunt Attackers Behind Niger State Killings, President Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs

President Tinubu launches national patriotism campaign

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the service chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, and the Director General of the Department of State Services to track down those responsible for the attack on Kasuwan Daji in Niger State.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the perpetrators must be apprehended and brought to justice, while all abducted victims should be rescued urgently.

The directive follows a deadly assault on Kasuwan Daji market in the Demo community of Borgu Local Government Area, where more than 30 people were killed and several others abducted. Residents said the attackers, believed to have emerged from nearby forest areas, operated for hours, looted foodstuffs and valuables, and set the market on fire.
