The Independent Broadcasting Association of Nigeria (IBAN) has expressed its deepest condolences and solidarity with the government and people of Maiduguri and the entire North-East region of Nigeria.
Speaking via a statement signed by the Chairman Ahmed Ramalan and the Director of Publicity, Gregory Odutayo, the Association averred that the “disaster has brought immense suffering to many families, displacing thousands and creating significant challenges in terms of food, shelter, and medical assistance”.
While acknowledging the heroic efforts of the government, aid agencies, and people on the ground working tirelessly to alleviate the situation, IBAN assured of their commitment to ensuring that the plight of those affected remains in the public consciousness.

To that end, IBAN called on all broadcasters in Nigeria to continue highlighting the scale of this tragedy and mobilising public and private support to alleviate the sufferings of the affected communities.
