The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif. The warrants are for alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed between October 8, 2023, and May 20, 2024.
The Hague-based court said the warrants, initially classified as “secret” to protect witnesses and preserve the integrity of investigations, could now impact Netanyahu’s international travel. ICC member states are obligated to arrest anyone subject to such warrants if they enter their territory.

Deif’s inclusion comes amid conflicting reports about his status. While Israel claimed to have killed him in a July airstrike in Gaza, Hamas denies his death. The ICC’s action underscores its ongoing commitment to addressing alleged violations of international law.
