ICPC, Works Ministry Audit 36tn Naira Road Projects

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Works has launched a nationwide Special Tracking Exercise to audit 760 federal road projects valued at over ₦36 trillion.

The exercise began on November 14, 2025, and mobilised teams of ICPC investigators, ministry engineers, and independent professionals from bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), deployed across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to ICPC, the audit aims to ensure fiscal governance, check procurement abuses, enforce contractor accountability, and recover funds lost through inflated or abandoned contracts.
