British actor Idris Elba has described Lagos as the “most amazing city in the world”. He made the remark during an interview on the red carpet of the TIFF Tribute Awards in Canada.
Elba reflected on his time in Nigeria while filming his project ‘Dust to Dreams’. He praised the country’s wealth of talent and said he had many unforgettable experiences in Lagos.

One highlight, he said, was watching British singer Seal, whose full name is Henry Olusegun Samuel, act in his native Nigerian accent. Elba called it a nod to Seal’s heritage and described the experience as a “real blessing”.
He also pointed to a standout performance in the film, where Seal and Nigerian singer Konstance performed a song written for the project, which he said was one of its most memorable moments.
