The Independent National Electoral Commission has resumed the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, marking the start of its second phase. The commission said the resumption took effect on Monday, following the conclusion of the first phase on December 10, 2025.
INEC had earlier launched online pre-registration for the exercise on August 18, 2025, before beginning in-person registration at designated centres nationwide on August 25. The commission said nearly 9.9 million Nigerians initiated online pre-registration during the first phase.
According to INEC, a total of 2.57 million registrations were fully completed nationwide as of November 28, 2025. These included more than 1.5 million online completions and over one million physical registrations at registration centres.

The commission said the break between the two phases was used to carry out statutory activities, including the display of the register of voters for claims and objections, held from December 15 to 21, 2025. INEC added that voter registration remains suspended in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory due to ongoing electoral activities, with new resumption dates to be announced.
