The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has appealed to political parties and their candidates to commit to the peace accord, set to be signed on Friday, November 8.
INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, issued the call in Akure, during a stakeholder meeting ahead of the Ondo State governorship election, scheduled for November 16.
The peace accord signing, slated for 10:00am at the International Culture and Event Centre, is aimed at ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process. Professor Yakubu emphasised the importance of all political stakeholders adhering to the accord’s guidelines and regulations in the days leading up to the election.
