INEC Denies Altering Documents to Accommodate Nominations of Senate President Lawan, And Ex Minister Akpabio

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it did not alter or backdate its documents to accommodate the nominations of the senate president, Ahmad Lawan, and former minister of Niger-Delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio as senatorial candidates for the 2023 general elections.
While also stating that it is yet to recognize any of them as senatorial candidates.
This is according to INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee Festus Okoye who said the matter is still in court.
Mr. Okoye also confirmed that the forms of both Mr. Lawan and Mr. Akpabio were never published by the commission.
