The Independent National Electoral Commission has extended the collection of Permanent Voter Cards in Anambra State to November 2. The extension follows several appeals from citizens and stakeholders requesting more time to enable eligible voters to collect their cards ahead of the November 8 governorship election.
INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta-Messi, announced the decision in a statement on Monday, saying it was approved after a commission meeting held on October 27. The exercise, which was initially scheduled to end on October 26, will now continue across all 326 registration areas in the state.

According to Eta-Messi, the extended window covers individuals who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration exercise. She urged all registered voters to collect their cards to take advantage of the opportunity and visit the designated collection centres.
INEC reiterated that collection must be done in person, as no proxy collection will be allowed. The commission thanked residents of Anambra for their cooperation and urged them to prepare to participate fully in the forthcoming election.
