The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, announced that Ibom Air is expected to begin international flights from Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo in April 2026. 
Keyamo said airport facilities and regulatory preparations are ahead of schedule following inspections with federal agencies and state officials. 
International departments including Customs, Immigration, and security services have assessed the airport’s readiness, the minister added.

The development is part of broader efforts to expand Nigeria’s aviation sector and boost connectivity.
