At least one Nigerian is among more than one hundred people injured after Iranian ballistic missiles targeted the United Arab Emirates amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
The UAE Ministry of Defence says its air defence systems have intercepted most of the missiles fired by Iran since the conflict began on 28 February 2026.
According to the ministry, 262 ballistic missiles have been launched, with 241 intercepted and 19 landing in the sea. Two missiles struck within the UAE, leaving six people dead and 122 others with minor to moderate injuries.

Authorities say those injured include nationals from several countries, including Nigeria. Meanwhile, Nigerians in Gulf countries have appealed to the Nigerian government to prepare evacuation plans if the security situation worsens.
