Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian have died in a helicopter crash on Sunday.
Their deaths were confirmed by state officials who say the helicopter slammed into a mountain peak in harsh weather conditions in the East Azerbaijan province.
Others who were on the helicopter also died, including the governor of the province. The officials were returning from a dam inauguration ceremony in the region.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has assured citizens that there will be no disruption to state affairs.
Meanwhile, some world leaders have sent condolences over the death of President Raisi.
