Israel has launched air strikes on what it described as Hezbollah and Hamas targets in eastern and southern Lebanon after issuing evacuation warnings for four villages. The Israeli military said it planned attacks on what it called military infrastructure in Hammara and Ain el-Tineh in the Bekaa Valley, as well as Kfar Hatta and Annan in the south.
Following the warning, dozens of families fled Kfar Hatta. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said a drone strike on a car in the southern village of Braikeh wounded two people, while the Israeli military said the strike targeted two Hezbollah members.

The attacks come despite a United States-brokered ceasefire in late 2024 that ended more than a year of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. The United Nations has criticised Israel’s continued bombardment, saying at least 127 civilians have been killed since the truce took effect, and warning that the strikes could amount to war crimes.
