Israel-Gaza Ceasefire Deal Reportedly Nearing Agreement

Israel’s Channel 12 has reported details of a proposed Gaza ceasefire agreement that could be finalised soon. The deal, reportedly divided into three stages, involves significant prisoner exchanges and territorial adjustments.

In the initial phase, Israel would release 50 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 serving life sentences, in exchange for each Israeli female soldier held captive. Additionally, 30 Palestinian minors, women, and sick individuals would be freed in return for civilian hostages. Israel is also expected to withdraw from the Philadelphi Corridor, which borders Gaza and Egypt.

The second phase, starting 16 days into the agreement, will focus on securing the release of all remaining captives through further negotiations.

The third stage envisions long-term arrangements, including establishing alternative governance in Gaza and rehabilitating the area. The agreement reportedly includes Israel allowing the return of one million Palestinian refugees to northern Gaza under international security oversight.
