Israel has returned the bodies of 15 Palestinians to Gaza as part of a US-brokered ceasefire and hostage exchange deal. The International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed it facilitated the transfer on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Red Cross said local health authorities in Gaza verified the receipt of the 15 bodies, bringing the total number of Palestinians handed over since the deal began to 165.

Under the terms of the ceasefire, Israel is required to return 15 Palestinian bodies for each deceased Israeli recovered. Israel earlier confirmed that Hamas had handed over the body of the 13th Israeli hostage on Monday.
The exchanges are taking place amid ongoing efforts to maintain the fragile truce and support humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip.
