Israel Prepares for Gaza Evacuations Amid Global Opposition

As Israel begins preparations for the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza, despite widespread international condemnation of President Donald Trump’s plan to depopulate the territory, Egypt is spearheading diplomatic efforts against the proposal, warning it could jeopardize its longstanding peace treaty with Israel, officials say.

In response to global criticism, the Trump administration has softened aspects of the plan, now framing the displacement as temporary. However, details on execution remain unclear.

On Thursday, President Trump stated that Gaza would be handed over to the U.S. after the war, assuring that no American troops would be involved in its redevelopment.

The Palestinians have strongly rejected the proposal, fearing permanent displacement. Egypt has also cautioned that forced expulsions could destabilize the region. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has refused to endorse mass relocations and insists that normalization with Israel hinges on establishing a Palestinian state that includes Gaza.
