Israel has launched a fresh wave of air and ground attacks across southern and eastern Lebanon, targeting areas controlled by the Iran-backed group Hezbollah. Two strikes hit the southern city of Tyre, with earlier attacks reported in Ansariya, Bint Jbeil, and the Bekaa Valley.
The conflict escalated following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during US-Israeli operations. Hezbollah has responded with missile attacks on central Israel and ambushes on Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese government and European Union leaders have urged both sides to return to the November 2024 ceasefire, warning that continued fighting risks drawing Lebanon into a wider war and causing severe humanitarian consequences.
