Israel To Inflict More Painful Blows On Hamas Soon, Says Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video address ahead of the Jewish Passover holiday which begins today, says Israel will soon deliver more painful attacks to Hamas in Gaza.

In the Sunday video address, the Israeli Priminister announced further painful blows against Hamas, saying it will happen shortly, without specifying a date.

Israel has been announcing a military operation in the town of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip on the border with Egypt for some time, despite warnings from its allies.

As a condition for the release of further hostages, Hamas is demanding a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, a comprehensive withdrawal of Israeli troops, the return of internally displaced people to their homes, a lifting of the blockade and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, Gaza’s civil defence agency says its teams have discovered 50 bodies, since Saturday, buried in the courtyard of the Nasser Medical Complex in Gaza’s main southern city of Khan Yunis.

Recall that Israel pulled its ground forces from Khan Yunis on April 7 after carrying out what it called a precise and limited operation at the hospital, one of Gaza’s biggest.
