Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Thursday that he will send a delegation for talks on securing the release of hostages seized in the October 7 attacks.
The announcement came in a statement made by his office after he held a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden. No information was given where the delegation would go, or when it would leave.
Prime Minister Netanyahu called a meeting of his security cabinet for late Thursday to discuss proposals sent by Hamas through Qatari mediators to end the Gaza conflict, media reports said.

Hamas has demanded an end to fighting and an Israeli withdrawal as a prelude to any hostage deal. In its response, the Israeli government said there can be no end to the war without the release of hostages in the Palestinian territory.
