Israeli Airstrikes in Lebanon Kill 47, Injures 22 as Ceasefire Efforts Continue

Israeli airstrikes have intensified in eastern Lebanon’s Baalbek region, resulting in significant casualties. Bachir Khodr, governor of Baalbek-Hermel province, reported at least 47 fatalities and 22 injuries from the attacks.

In Beirut, the southern suburbs experienced some of the most intense airstrikes to date, with approximately a dozen strikes causing substantial damage and sending clouds of debris into the air. 

The Israeli military stated that these operations targeted Hezbollah infrastructure and emphasized efforts to minimize civilian harm through advance warnings and other precautionary measures.

Additionally, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that three individuals were killed in an Israeli bombing in the town of al-Shaitiyah, near the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon. These attacks coincide with Israeli ground forces advancing on the strategic hill known as al-Bayyaada.
