Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Sunday claimed the lives of at least 14 Palestinians in three separate incidents, Palestinian medical officials have reported. The latest fatalities bring the weekend death toll in Gaza to 102.
The escalation coincided with intensified diplomatic efforts by U.S. and Arab mediators to broker a ceasefire.
Earlier on Sunday, Gaza’s health ministry announced that Israeli strikes over the preceding 24 hours had killed at least 88 people and left more than 200 injured.
