The Israeli military has issued a statement saying it has killed Hamas member Basel Hamoni in an air strike in Gaza.
It accused Hamoni of being responsible for the 2004 Beer el-Sabe Sheva bus bombings that killed 16 Israeli civilians.
He was jailed and released in 2011 in a deal that saw Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit freed in exchange for more than 400 Palestinian prisoners, the statement added.
Hamas has not yet commented on these claims.
