At least 23 people, including seven children, were killed on Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Almat, north of Beirut, the Lebanese capital, according to a BBC report.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, local civil defence sources reported that Israeli airstrikes on two residential buildings left at least 30 people dead. The first strike in Jabalia early Sunday claimed the lives of 25 people, including 13 children, and wounded over 30 others. In a separate strike in Gaza City’s Sabra neighbourhood, five people were killed, with additional civilians still unaccounted for.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has not commented on the Lebanese strike. However, the IDF confirmed an airstrike on Jabalia, stating it targeted an area allegedly used by “terrorists,” with precautions reportedly taken to minimise civilian casualties. Further details are currently under review by the IDF.
