Israel’s military intensified airstrikes across Lebanon on Monday, targeting commercial and residential areas in Beirut and the port city of Tyre. At least 12 people were killed in Tyre, adding to the more than 3,700 fatalities in Lebanon since the two-month conflict began. Israeli officials said the strikes were focused on Hezbollah strongholds, with evacuation orders issued for Beirut’s southern suburbs.
In Beirut, attacks landed near a Lebanese police base and the city’s largest public park, causing widespread destruction. Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi reported that the airstrikes have become increasingly powerful and frequent, often occurring without warning and leaving civilians with little time to escape.
