Israeli Strikes Kill Dozens in Gaza as Death Toll Surpasses 58,000

At least 30 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including six children struck while collecting water, according to local health officials. The cumulative death toll has now exceeded 58,000 after 21 months of conflict.

A strike in Nuseirat reportedly hit a water point, with medics at Al-Awda Hospital confirming the deaths of 10 people, most of them children. The Israeli military acknowledged it was targeting a militant but blamed a technical error for the misfire.

Talks between Israel and Hamas remain deadlocked following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent visit to Washington, with ceasefire terms and troop deployments proving contentious.

Meanwhile, violence continues in the occupied West Bank, where funerals were held for two Palestinians, including a Palestinian-American reportedly killed by Israeli settlers.
