The trial of Jude Okoye, former manager and elder brother to music duo P-Square, opened on Monday at the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged money laundering involving $1 million, ₦1.3 billion and £34,537.59.
Presided over by Justice Alexander Owoeye, the case saw Peter Okoye take the witness stand, outlining how his brother allegedly diverted royalties by setting up a separate company.

Led in evidence by EFCC counsel Larry Peter Aso, Peter Okoye claimed the music aggregators managing P-Square’s royalties were also handling Jude’s firm. He said requests for access to group albums were denied by Jude and his twin brother, Paul.
Believing the financial dealings to be suspect, Peter said he filed a petition through his lawyer, Mr Afolabi.
The matter was adjourned until 4 June for cross-examination of the witness.
