The Kano State Judicial Commission of Inquiry looking into the violent unrest which took place in early August, held its inaugural session on Thursday, September 5, at the Kano State High Court.
The panel, which has a mandate to investigate the killings, arson, looting, and destruction that occurred during the End-Bad-Governance protest, began by calling for public and media cooperation.

The 14-member commission, which is chaired by retired Justice Lawan Mohmoud, was inaugurated by Governor Abba Yusuf on Monday, and given a deadline of one month to deliver its findings. He assured the public of non-interference in the commission’s work.
