Mrs. Judith Amaechi, wife of former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, has strongly denied allegations by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike that she received ₦4bn monthly from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for women’s empowerment programmes.
Describing the claim as “absurd and baseless,” Mrs Amaechi rejected suggestions that she or her NGO, Empowerment Support Initiative, ESI, was ever indicted in any NDDC corruption probe.

She accused Mr Wike of using blackmail to score political points, insisting the partnership between ESI and NDDC was legitimate and focused on grassroots capacity development.
Through a spokesperson, she challenged Mr. Wike to publish any forensic audit report proving her involvement in wrongdoing. Failing that, she called on him to resign from his post and apologise to Nigerians.
