Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has unveiled a new emergency medical and ambulance system designed to deliver rapid healthcare across all 23 local government areas. The initiative, known as KADSEMSAS, is aimed at reducing response times in life-threatening situations and ensuring residents in both urban and rural communities can access urgent medical care.
The system includes a fleet of fully equipped ambulances, a central dispatch centre, and trained paramedics to stabilise patients while en route to hospitals. Citizens will be able to dial a dedicated emergency number for immediate assistance.

Officials say the service will particularly target maternal, neonatal, and accident-related emergencies where delays can prove fatal. The governor described the programme as part of his administration’s commitment to universal health coverage, with the health commissioner calling it a “giant leap” for equitable and inclusive healthcare delivery.
