Katsina Governor Backs Full Autonomy for Local Governments

The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Radda, has pledged his support for the full autonomy of local governments in the state. He made this commitment while receiving the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), who is also the Chairman of Kaita Local Government, Engineer Bello Yan Daki, along with other executive members of the association, in his office.

Governor Radda emphasised that granting full autonomy to local governments would enhance grassroots development, improve service delivery, and strengthen democratic governance at the local level.

He assured the ALGON leadership of his administration’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives aimed at empowering local governments for more effective governance.

The ALGON President, Engineer Bello Yan Daki, commended the governor for his commitment to local government reforms and expressed optimism about the potential for improved development across the state’s local councils.
