The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring a credible Local Government election this Saturday. Speaking to thousands of APC supporters in Batsari Local Government during the campaign’s closing ceremony, Gov. Radda assured that all necessary measures and logistics are in place for the successful conduct of the elections.
Radio Now’s Buhari Abubakar reports that Gov. Radda also addressed security concerns, particularly in volatile areas bordering Kaduna State, Zamfara State, and the Niger Republic. He revealed that security agencies have been placed on high alert to monitor the elections in these regions, which have been grappling with frequent insurgent attacks. Eleven Local Governments in Katsina are currently facing significant security challenges due to ongoing violence.

The governor’s comments come as the opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has confirmed it will not participate in the election, adding to the political dynamics leading up to the polls.
