Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho faced another frustrating evening as Sevilla were held to a 1-1 draw by Osasuna in their La Liga encounter on Monday.
The former Leicester City forward appeared set to feature late in the match, but a tactical reshuffle saw him return to the bench. The change was prompted by injury concerns surrounding midfielder Sambi Lokonga, who ultimately played on after appearing fit to continue.
Sevilla’s head coach, GarcÃa Pimienta, had readied Iheanacho and team captain Jesús Navas as substitutes in the closing stages. However, Lokonga’s decision to remain on the pitch altered those plans, leaving the Nigerian international sidelined once again.

Since joining Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, Iheanacho has struggled for regular minutes. Despite scoring twice in eight appearances, the 27-year-old has now missed two consecutive matches without stepping onto the pitch, raising questions about his role in Pimienta’s squad.
