A Kogi State High Court in Lokoja has ruled that Tijani Ahmed-Anaje must vacate the throne and cease to represent himself as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland.
Ahmed-Anaje was appointed to the position in January 2024 by former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello. However, his appointment was contested in December by Daudu Adeku-Ojiah, Hussain Yusuf, and Abdulrahaam Suberu. The challengers argued that the selection process did not comply with Section 4(1) of the Chiefs (Appointment, Deposition, and Establishment of Traditional Councils in Kogi State) Law of 2006.
