LAGESC Arrests 49 in Overnight Raid Across Ikoyi, Victoria Island

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as KAI, has arrested 49 individuals during an overnight raid in Ikoyi and Victoria Island. The operation, conducted on Monday night, aimed to enhance security and maintain order in the upscale neighbourhoods.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the patrols covered key areas, including Idowu Martins, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Akin Adesola, Samuel Manuwa, Muri Okunola, Ajose Adeogun, Lugard Avenue, and Macdonald Road. The raid yielded significant results, targeting individuals involved in illicit activities.

Wahab highlighted LAGESC’s commitment to ensuring Lagos remains a safe and orderly city. He noted that the operation had already contributed to a return to normalcy in the affected areas.

The commissioner urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to support ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in Lagos.
