The new Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mrs. Mojisola Meranda, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Ikeja on Monday, alongside her principal officers.
Mrs. Meranda, the first female Speaker in the Assembly’s history, reaffirmed the legislature’s dedication to fostering a strong working relationship with the executive. Her election followed the impeachment of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa on January 13. She previously served as Deputy Speaker in the 10th Assembly and Chief Whip in the 9th.

During the visit, she underlined the necessity of alignment between the two arms of government, describing collaboration as vital to Lagos State’s progress.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for the gesture, pledging his administration’s commitment to effective partnership with the Assembly in advancing the state’s development agenda.
