The Lagos State Government has clarified that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu did not authorise any legal action against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
This comes after reports emerged claiming the governor filed a suit to prevent the EFCC from arresting or prosecuting him after his tenure.
In a statement on Tuesday, Lagos Attorney-General, Lawal Pedro, denied the reports and said the state is investigating how the case was filed without the governor’s knowledge.
Mr. Pedro further emphasised that neither the governor nor his aides are under investigation by the EFCC, and there is no threat of arrest by the agency.
