Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to aligning governance with digital infrastructure, saying young innovators are increasingly applying technology to address local challenges. Speaking at GITEX Nigeria in Lagos, the governor stressed the need to give young people the space to thrive, insisting that digital solutions will continue to shape governance in the state.

Sanwo-Olu described hosting GITEX as an honour, calling it ‘an opportunity for a beautiful African story.’ He said Lagos was a natural choice, given its resilience and diversity, noting that the city represents every tribe in Nigeria and thrives on its unique mix of cultures.
Highlighting progress since 2019, the governor pointed to investments in start-ups, submarine cable landings, and the rise of technology-driven enterprises. He added that Lagos is not only an economic powerhouse but also home to several successful unicorns.
