Lagos government Says No Casualty Recorded And 25 Rescued In Banana Island Building Collapse

Gbenga Omotoso, Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, says no one died in the collapse of the seven-storey building under construction on Banana Island, Ikoyi. 

 

Giving an update, the Commissioner added that the state government has launched an intensified probe into the collapse following a directive by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He added that twenty-five people were rescued from the site, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, scanned the building with a high-precision 3-D Laser Imagery System and found no evidence of anyone trapped beneath the rubble. 

 

He also stated that a roll call was taken by the site supervisors, and everyone was accounted for.
