The Lagos State Judiciary has fixed October 14 for a coroner’s inquest into the death of ten people in last month’s Afriland Towers fire on Broad Street, Lagos Island. The blaze, which engulfed the six-storey building housing the Federal Inland Revenue Service, United Capital Plc, and the United Bank for Africa, claimed the lives of four FIRS staff and six UCAP employees.
The inquest follows a petition by Falana & Falana’s Chambers requesting an investigation under Section 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s Law 2007.
