Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated the Lagos State Sports Trust Fund board of trustees at Lagos House in Marina. The new board is charged with mobilising resources to support sports development across the state. The event brought together sports officials and state leaders as part of efforts to strengthen sporting activities.
Sanwo-Olu said the trust fund will help channel private sector investment into grassroots and school sports programmes. He told board members they must use their expertise and networks to attract funding that complements government support. The governor also said sustainable financing can improve facilities and athlete support.
The board is chaired by Enitan Oshodi, with Olaposi Agunbiade as Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, alongside nine other members.

The board chair stated that strengthened partnerships with businesses could widen opportunities for athletes. According to him, he expects quick wins from the board and long-term sustainable sports development in Lagos.
