Lagos NLC Demands ₦150,000 Minimum Wage for Workers

The Nigeria Labour Congress in Lagos State has demanded a new minimum wage of ₦150,000 for workers, citing the high cost of living in the state.

State Chairperson Funmi Sesi made the call on Thursday after wage increases were announced in Imo and Ebonyi States. She noted that Lagos workers currently earn ₦85,000 and deserve a higher wage to cover rising costs of housing, transport, food and utilities.

The Lagos NLC chairperson expressed optimism that all state governments would follow the examples of Imo and Ebonyi in reviewing workers’ wages.
