Nigeria Targets 95% Digital Literacy by 2030

The Lagos State Government has ordered all courier and delivery riders to wear reflective jackets and ensure their motorcycles or bicycles are fitted with visibility tapes during evening and night hours. The Ministry of Transportation said the measure, announced on Sunday, is aimed at improving road safety and cutting the risk of accidents.

According to officials, the directive applies to riders operating between 6pm and 6am. In response, Glovo Nigeria pledged to distribute 3,000 reflective vests free of charge to its couriers within the next month, while urging other operators to take similar steps.

Authorities welcomed the initiative, describing it as part of wider efforts to make the fast-growing logistics sector safer and more sustainable. The ministry also stressed that couriers play a vital role in e-commerce but often face dangerous conditions without basic protective equipment.
