The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, has declared human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, wanted for allegedly causing public disturbance.
Speaking to journalists at Oworonshoki on Monday, the commissioner accused Sowore of instigating protests against the recent demolitions carried out by the Lagos State Government in the area. Jimoh said Sowore had allegedly planned to obstruct traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge, describing the act as a serious offence.

Earlier, police fired teargas at protesters demonstrating against the demolitions, leaving some people injured and others arrested. The police commissioner confirmed that 13 protesters were in custody following the incident.
Jimoh urged Sowore to report to the nearest police station, adding that the command was closing in on his location. He insisted there was no justification for the protests since those affected by the demolitions had been compensated by the government.
