Lagos State says it has strengthened its emergency management system, saving assets worth about ₦118.32 billion in the past one year. The state also estimates property losses of ₦19.72 billion within the same period, resulting in a net asset protection value of ₦98.60 billion.
The Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Olugbenga Oyerinde, disclosed this on Monday during the 2026 ministerial press briefing on the performance of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration over the past 12 months.
He said the achievement was driven by improved emergency response operations, particularly through investments in the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service. According to him, the state also generated ₦11.1 million through the issuance of indigeneship certificates during the period.
