The Lagos State Government has announced temporary traffic diversion on Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, to facilitate ongoing construction work on Saturday, August 24th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday, August 25th, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
According to a statement by the Commissioner of transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Thursday, the diversion is necessary to facilitate the essential construction work on the Bourdillon Road corridor, ensuring the safety of both workers and motorists, while also effectively preventing congestion and minimising the risk of accidents in the area.
The statement advised motorists on Bourdillon Road heading towards Falomo Roundabout to turn right at Lateef Jakande Road, to Onisiwo inwards Oniru Road to link Thompson Avenue Roundabout into Thompson Avenue, and make a right turn into Bourdillon Road again to proceed with their journey.
However, Mr Osiyemi explained that motorists on the lane inbound Alexander Avenue from Falomo Roundabout will not be affected by the diversion.
