Preparations are advancing for a 96-hour DJ Marathon Festival set for 29 December to 2 January in Lagos, with organisers reporting strong international interest driven by the city’s fast-growing ‘Detty December’ reputation. Founder of Afroxella, Buchi Henry, said enquiries have come from across Europe, prompting plans for a festival that captures Lagos’ vibrant DJ-driven nightlife.
More than 100 DJs will perform continuously across three adjoining beach venues, with veterans such as DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Neptune, DJ Humility and DJ Bombastic already invited. Africa’s record-holding Masked Queen Bella is also expected to make an appearance.

The festival will blend music with food, fashion, fitness and wellness sessions. Organisers say the New Year crossover and live streaming to 100 countries will help project Nigeria’s cultural energy to a global audience.
