Lagos to Host National Emergency Management Conference

The Lagos State Government says it has managed more than 13,700 emergencies since 2008, including 2,400 fire outbreaks, underscoring its leadership in disaster response. Officials revealed the figures ahead of the National State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Conference scheduled for October 2–4, 2025, in Lagos.

The event, organised by Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, in partnership with the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, will gather emergency managers, policymakers, security agencies, private sector leaders, and civil society groups under the theme “Strengthening Sub-National Emergency Management for a Resilient Nigeria.” Sessions will feature technical discussions, collaborations, and a live disaster simulation at Igando’s Relief and Rescue Camp.
