Lagos to install 3,000 e-police and speed cameras for traffic enforcement

The Lagos State Government has announced plans to install 3,000 electronic police and speed limit cameras across the state to strengthen traffic law enforcement.  

Director of the Lagos State Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS), Akin-George Fashola, said on Tuesday that speed limit cameras are already operational at key locations, including Alapere-Ogudu Road and Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, with limits set between 60km/h and 80km/h.

E-police cameras have also been deployed at Allen Junction and Nurudeen Olowopopo Road in Ikeja to monitor red-light violations and other offences. Motorists are advised to adhere to speed limits and warning signs, as violators face a fine of N50,000. Offenders may contest penalties by providing evidence of compliance.
