Lagos to Launch Revised Electronic Call-Up System for Lekki-Epe Corridor August 1

The Lagos State Government has confirmed that a revised Electronic Call-Up system for regulating truck movements in the Lekki-Epe corridor will take effect from August 1, 2025.

The initiative, designed to forestall traffic congestion from operations at the Dangote Refinery and Lekki Deep Sea Port, was announced following a high-level stakeholders’ meeting led by Transport Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi.

Industry unions, including NUPENG, NARTO, and IPMAN, agreed to a reduced call-up fee of ₦10,000 per truck, and endorsed enforcement measures aimed at avoiding a repeat of the Apapa traffic crisis.

Seven designated truck parks—equipped with surveillance, sanitation, and lodging—have been approved.

Only trucks with verified business within the Lekki Free Zone will be granted access.

The Ministry of Transportation will lead sensitisation efforts ahead of full enforcement in August.

Stakeholders pledged support for seamless implementation.
